Surge a Contracultura, um movimento, que se caracteriza, por uma mudança das características de vida e da maneira de pensar dos jovens. A juventude dos anos 60 criou novos estilos de vida, que se opunham totalmente aos adotados até ao momento, pois passaram a viver a vida ao máximo, quebrando regras existentes.
Moda: nesta década as pessoas vestiam-se de acordo com o seu comportamento, e principalmente para os jovens, a moda era usar roupas muito diferentes das que se encontravam na moda, e não seguirem a maneira de vestir dos mais velhos. Os homens inspiram-se na maneira de vestir dos quatro jovens que integravam a banda “The Beatles”.
Das camisas sem gola, das calças de ganga, das minissaias, criadas inicialmente por pessoas vulgares e não por estilistas, as mulheres também passaram a usar roupas mais masculinas.
A Cultura Hippie
Hipster – Americanos que se envolviam com a cultura negra veio dar origem ao Hippie. Os Hippies defendem o amor livre e a paz entre as pessoas, e têm por hábito a meditação. Têm um gosto e um respeito enorme pela Natureza. Muitas vezes recorrem a drogas como marijuana e haxixe, mas consideram o tabaco prejudicial para a saúde. São faz de rock, que surgiu precisamente nesta década.
Características dos Hippies: os Hippies utilizavam a barba e os cabelos grandes, o que era muito criticado pelas pessoas que não aderiram à contracultura, pois achavam que era pouco higiênico. Utilizavam calças boca-de-sino e camisas tingidas, com cores muito brilhantes.
Em Agosto de 1969, deu-se um concerto em Woodstock com a duração de três dias, onde atuaram diversas bandas de rock muito afamadas na altura. Este concerto ficou marcado por um grande movimento de hippies, que sendo eles adeptos da Natureza e da liberdade sexual, aderiram em peso a esta manifestação, ficando marcado pelo uso de drogas, pelas relações sexuais escandalosas e pela liberdade de expressão.
Assim, podemos concluir que a população da década de 60 estava mesmo revoltada com a forma de vida que tinham, e que foi nesta altura que se libertaram e viveram a vida com os seus conceitos de felicidade.
